Box Office: Fukrey Returns Turns Out To Be Yet Another Good Success For The Team

The film is now clearly playing in the 'big boys' arena and that is indeed heartening.

As expected, Fukrey Returns jumped yet again on its second Saturday as 5.10 crore more came in. With this, the film has now gone past the lifetime numbers of Mubarakan [55.59 crore] and Jagga Jasoos [54.50 crore] as its current total stands at 58.96 crore.

Next targets for the film are Half Girlfriend [60.30 crore] and Secret Superstar [63.50 crore] which should be surpassed today. However, it would be interesting to see when does Jab Harry Met Sejal [64.50 crore] turns history. The film is now clearly playing in the ‘big boys’ arena and that is indeed heartening.

For Pulkit Samrat, this is now his biggest success since Fukrey [37 crore] and Sanam Re [32 crore] both of which had scored in the 30s. As for Varun Sharma too, this is yet another good success after Fukrey [37 crore] and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon [49.50 crore] where he had a strong supporting role to play (though he had featured in Dilwale too in a minor part). Meanwhile, Richa Chadha can celebrate as well since she is saying goodbye to 2017 on a high after the success of her online streaming series Inside Edge.

As for director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba (who had started with a flop 3 They Bhai), it would be interesting to see if he would be bringing on something altogether new next or gear up to make Fukrey 3 immediately.
