Bombay Velvet has been a disaster right from its opening day. The film has been dropping in the weekdays in fact. It collected 1.50 crores on its fifth day and now stands with a total collection of 19.70 crores at the domestic box office. It is a disappointing that the high budget film could not even reach the 20 crore mark in five days.
In spite of having a star cast of Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, both of whom have a huge fan following, the film’s urban niche content was an obstacle for it to become popular. The Anurag Kashyap film is going to fetch huge losses for the makers. The film is performing even lower than Ek Paheli Leela and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy.
