Even though business may be divided between Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale, for exhibitors there is good news indeed as audience are returning to theaters. After a fantastic weekend that saw more than 110 crore coming in between the two films, the weekdays have been holding steady as well. Tuesday was yet another example of that when close to 20 crore came in again.
With Bajirao Mastani already taking lead on Monday itself, the trend was just the same as the film kept the pace up on Tuesday too. With 9.4 crore more coming in, the film has crossed the 66 crore mark and is only going from strength to strength with every passing day. The film would now comfortably cross the 100 crore mark much before its second weekend is through. Finding massive appreciation from all quarters and good to very good word of mouth further helping its case, the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer has now firmly established itself as the ‘lambi race ka ghoda’.
On the other hand Dilwale too had a decent day which saw 9.42 crore coming in. The film stands around the 84.60 crore mark and one expects that the 100 crore mark may just be managed before the Rohit Shetty film steps into the second weekend. The film is keeping steady and though the collections are not low, it is just that the expectations are much higher from a Shahrukh Khan film. If not for the clash, the multi-starrer would have most definitely covered a much greater distance.
All in all, a very exciting Christmas weekend ahead awaits both the films.
