As was always on the cards, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil jumped further on Monday, what with 17.75 crore more added to its total. The film now already has 53.35 crore in its kitty and that’s a good number indeed in four days. If the film would have released on a regular weekend and made this kind of amount in four days, its makers would definitely have been pleased. Now even if a larger chunk is being registered on a weekday, it isn’t something that Karan Johar or Fox would mind.
The film should easily collect 20 crore from here before the close of Week One. That would ensure that the entire lifetime collections of following films would be surpassed by the Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer in one week flat:
Kapoor & Sons – 73.3 crore
Dishoom – 70 crore
Pink – 68 crore
Udta Punjab – 60 crore
Mohenjo Daro – 58.5 crore
Considering the fact that Kapoor & Sons is also a Karan Johar and Fox film, the makers would be pleased to have managed such inroads in quick time with their romantic drama. This feat would in fact also help Ae Dil Hai Mushkil find a place amongst the Top-10 lifetime grossers of 2016 in a matter of 7 days itself.
The month of October was barren so far with not even a single new release doing well. However, that jinx has now been broken by Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which is now on way to be a clean Hit at the Box Office.
