Indian television had clearly lacked its effervescent and interactive flavor after the first season of the popular reality show Satyamev Jayate came to a close. With the second season finally going on floors, one can easily expect this one to be just as gritty and emotionally overwhelming as the last one.
The first day of shoot began with the troublesome issue of violence against women. Given the rampant rise in the number of rape cases across the nation, the theme was chosen for the show’s pilot episode, informed an insider.
Aamir Khan, who reprises his role as the show host, apparently was so emotional that he broke down after hearing a few testimonies of women who were subjected to grotesque physical abuse. Aamir was so dumbfounded and upset that the shooting for the show was stalled for a good 30 minutes before Khan composed himself and gave a nod to resume.
Satyamev Jayate was earlier expected to go on air in Novemeber, 2013 but with the release of Khan’s Dhoom 3 last month, it was postponed. The film’s pilot episode was shot on 10th January. Interestingly, the new season will only show 4 episodes in a month and take a gap before airing the next set of 4 episodes.
