The Way Back is the brave story of Siberian gulag escapees who walk 4000 miles overland to freedom in India. Read the preview for more.

Jim Sturgess, a Polish POW, is sentenced to 20 years in the gulag where he meets Ed Harris, an American; Mark Strong, an actor; Colin Farrell, a hardened Russian criminal; Alexandru Potocean, who makes a living by sketching erotic drawings in exchange for food and clothes; Sebastian Urzendowsky, a Pole who suffers from night blindness; Gustaf Skarsgård, a Latvian priest; and Dragos Bucur, a Yugoslav accountant. During a severe snowstorm, they break out of the Siberian gulag. When they reach Lake Baikal they come across a girl, Saoirse Ronan who joins them. Thus begins their long and arduous journey to freedom.
