Sudhir Mishra is not very happy with the ‘A’ certificate offered by the Central Board of Film Certification to his film, Tera Kya Hoga Johny. He was trying for a ‘UA’ certificate but the CBFC objected to some graphic scenes and the use of expletives in the film. The Central Board of Film Certification asked him to delete the controversial portions if he wanted a ‘UA’ certificate. These include a scene of a cop making sexual advances towards a boy, shots showing cocaine being sold and snorted, and some four-letter words mouthed by some characters in the film.
Mishra defended his stance saying, “All these scenes and dialogues are key to the very essence of the film and to the characters being portrayed. So, making any changes would have meant changing what I was trying to convey in the first place.” That is why, Sudhir Mishra accepted an ‘A’ certificate instead of a ‘UA’.
‘Tera Kya Hoga Johny’ stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kay Kay Menon, Soha Ali Khan and Shahana Goswami. Neil wants to elope with Shahana Goswami, but she is married to a corrupt encounter cop Kay Kay Menon. When Neil steals Kay Kay’s black money stashed in a flat, it sets into motion a thrilling ride not just his life but also of a coffee delivery boy Johnny played by Sikander Agarwal. Soha Ali Khan plays a small time model who gets drawn into their lives. The film releases on 31st December, 2010.
