One such classic, that we have all enjoyed at some point in our life is Subhash Ghai directed Khalnayak.

The film, that gave Sanjay Dutt newfound stardom also featured Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit in pivotal roles. But in an interesting turn of events, Ghai has revealed that Sanjay and Jackie were infact not the original choices for the film!

Opening up to Mumbai Mirror in his latest interview, Ghai has said that while Khalnayak was planned as a Hollywood film! What’s more, is that Nana Patekar was the original choice for Ballu alongside Jackie Shroff. But he decided to stick to a language that he was more comfortable with and decided to make the film with a small art-house production featuring Nana Patekar and Jackie Shroff as cop and criminal.
