Singer Sona Mohapatra has been very vocal about her views and opinions in recent times. After taking a dig on Salman Khan yesterday, she has now opened up on the new generation actors including Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar not having the conviction to lip-synch songs. Here is what she has to say about the same.
As per the recent reports, Sona Mohapatra opened up how actors in the yesteryear, used to take efforts of lip-synching. This helped the audience in feeling that the actors are singing themselves. But according to her, the actors in this generation lack the conviction to take that legacy ahead.
In an interview with Bollywood Life, when asked about the Same, Sona Mohapatra said, “Pichle Zamaane mein, actors would at least used to work on their lip-sync. When you do Saiyaan Tere Pyaar Mein Lut Gaye Hum Baazar Mein (she sings the song), when you do Saiyaan, Baazar, your mouth is supposed to open. Here, for some example, I sang some qawwali or something for Jacqueline Fernandez (pauses)… I think Jacqueline Fernandez. Woh Saiyaan bolte waqt mooh khola hi nahi usne, Saiyaan karke muh band rakha hai. I am like, lip-sync karna bhi ek art hai jo humare pichle generation mein actors used to work on. They used to make sure they know the lyrics by heart, their throat would show a certain strain when they were lip-syncing and they used to look like they were singing the song.”
