Shahid Kapoor Is Enjoying The Current Phase Of His Career

Actor Shahid Kapoor, who will be seen playing rockstar Tommy Singh in his forthcoming film Udta Punjab, says he is “enjoying” this phase of his career and feels good that he is getting the chance to portray varied characters.

“Through Tommy Singh I have explored a new space in my journey as an actor. I am enjoying this phase of my career where I am getting to play varied set of characters that are extremely interesting,” Shahid said in a statement.

From drugs to alcohol, Shahid will be seen authenticating the after-effects of all these substances on celluloid in Udta Punjab through his character. In real life, Shahid refrains from consuming even alcohol because of religious beliefs.

Many Bollywood celebrities have appreciated his role over social media.

Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, Udta Punjab also stars Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. The film is slated to release on June 17.
