When life gives you a lot of money, then ‘Kharch’ it like the Ambanis for sure. So, the richest family in the country is all set for a three-day wedding bash for their youngest son, Anant Ambani, who is getting married to his childhood sweetheart, Radhika Merchant. Along with a swarm of Bollywood celebrities, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to perform at this pre-wedding function, according to reports.
Guess what’s the strange part? The main wedding is not anywhere near until July. While the wedding will happen in July, the pre-wedding celebration will be from March to March 3 in Reliance township of Jamnagar. Around 1300 guests are expected to attend the three-day event.
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan performed at Isha Ambani’s wedding as well, and murmurs say that he will entertain this time as well. No one is sure if he is getting paid for this gig or not. Usually, King Khan charges somewhere between 8 – 10 crore for wedding performances.
If an ETimes report is to be believed, he charged almost 8 crore for a 30-minute performance at a high-profile wedding at Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah hotel in 2013. It was at the invitation of Ahmed Hashem Khoory and Mariam Othman, who were parents of the bride and close friends of Shah Rukh Khan‘s event manager in Dubai.
Prior to this, he charged 3 crore to perform at Laxmi Mittal’s daughter Vanisha Mittal’s wedding that happened in 2004 in Paris. In 2010, the Dunki superstar performed at a lavish wedding for 4 crore. However, it is not that big an amount to invite him to weddings. In fact, in 2012, he was invited to at least 250 weddings! It was close to 2000 crore worth of offers; however, the actor chose only the closest and personal 10 offers that got a chance to witness the superstar dance at their weddings.
Coming back to the Ambanis, it is not sure if SRK would charge, but looking back at the history where he performed for friends but at a minimal charge, he might be getting paid for the gig as well. A report by Siasat claims that Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanjh will also perform at the wedding. RK reportedly charges around 2 – 3 crore, and Alia Bhatt charges 1.5 crore. Diljit Dosanjh charged 4 crore to perform at weddings.
The three-day event includes a cocktail party, jungle safari, traditional event, and more.
