After getting stuck in several controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati might get a clearance from the Censor Board of Certification today.
Earlier, Padmavati was supposed to release on December 1. But till now, the film hasn’t been released.
Padmavati has faced a lot of protests and backlash from the fringe groups as the Rajput members were upset with the content that is being highlighted in the film. All this drama led to the postponement of the films’ release. According to a report in After Hrs, “the CBFC had refused to certify Padmavati as the disclaimer (whether it is based on fiction or historical facts) had not been mentioned by the makers. Now, the new disclaimer has raised questions about how the film is viewed and certified by the CBFC.”

If Padmavati gets a certificate from the CBFC today, then the producers will decide when to release the film. In the report, After Hrs quoted an exhibitor saying, “There’s been no official intimation from the producers. Whenever they plan to release it, we will be happy to give them the promised number of screens.”
