A case was filed against Salman Khan for allegedly using the word bhangi on a public platform that hurt the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community.
During a reality show, while promoting his film, Mr. Khan had used the word ‘bhangi’ to refer to his own dancing style. This did not go down well with the Valmiki community, and an FIR was lodged with Churu police.
Now, according to a recent update in India Today, that the High court has put a stay on the FIR which means the court has issued a notice to the person who filed a comment.

“Khan had moved the high court with a prayer to quash this FIR against him and Justice Sandeep Mehta, after hearing the arguments today, stayed the FIR? said the actor’s counsel Mahesh Bora.

“In such a situation, there was no question about humiliating or hurting the sentiments of the community, so there was no case against him maintainable under the SC/ST Act,” argued Bora.
The plea, filed in the Patiala House Court, alleged that the accused persons had “committed atrocity” on the members of the caste and insulted and humiliated them by making the casteist remark.The complaint, filed by Harnam Singh, a former Chairman of Delhi Commission.
Salman Khan also has Bharat, Kick 3 which he will begin shooting after the completion of Race 3 which is all set to release on EID 2018. The film will have a clash with Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao starrer Fanne Khan. This will be a major clash to watch out for this year.
