Responding to a petition filed by Viacom 18 Media Private Limited in the Bombay high court, challenging its order to shift the telecast timing of Bigg Boss – hosted by Salman Khan – from prime time to 11 p.m., the I & B ministry sought more time to file its reply. The matter will now be heard on December 3.
Ealier, the high court had granted a stay to a Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) order, shifting the show’s airing time to after 11 pm. The broadcaster had filed its petition in the court challenging the MIB’s decision, after which the MIB directive was stayed. Bigg Boss has been in the center of controversies for its allegedly vulgar content. The show even hosted Hollywood actress, Pamela Anderson, for three days to ramp up it’s TRPs.
