Priyanka Chopra, who has been living in New York for the last few months to shoot the third season of her TV series Quantico, flew down to Mumbai last week. According to reports, she was back to meet a few filmmakers and confirm her next Bollywood projects. She also uploaded a photo on her Instagram story, of all the scripts she had been offered. Though the actress took off to Ireland without confirming her next films, there are speculations that she might choose between Salman Khan’s Bharat or Shonali Bose’s upcoming project.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actress was recently approached to play the lead in Shonali Bose’s next directorial, which is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. Shonali is known for directing 2012 critically acclaimed film Margarita, With A Straw, with Kalki Koechlin and Sayani Gupta in leading roles. When Mirror reached out to Shonali, she simply said, “We are not sure of the cast yet, but I am doing a film with Ronnie and Sid. It’s an original script written by me and inspired by a true story.”

On the other hand, the Salman Khan starrer Bharat will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The actor-director previously worked together on Tiger Zinda Hai, which went on to become Salman Khan’s highest grossing film. According to DNA, the film is an Indian adaptation of the Korean movie, Ode to My Father and chronicles India’s journey from freedom to present date, covering a time span over 7 decades. Priyanka Chopra last worked with Zafar on Gunday in 2014.
While the actress is yet to announce which film will mark her Bollywood comeback, there are a lot of expectations from the actress, especially after Quantico’s successful 3rd season. She was last seen on the silver screen in 2017’s Baywatch. She also starred in Prakash Jha’s 2016 crime-drama Jai Gangaajal.
