Tiger Zinda Hai raked in over 45.53 crores on its third day, thereby recording the biggest single day collections of all time at the box office. The Salman Khan starrer, which was a Christmas release ended its run at the ticket window at collections around 339 crores. As the first quarter of 2018 is about to end, he talks about the big releases that follow in the coming few months have already begun.
The prediction game has started as to which film will record the biggest single day collection of all time for a Bollywood film and the common name that comes to everyone’s mind is Thugs of Hindostan. The film, which marks the teaming up for Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan for the first time is undoubtedly the biggest release of the year, and the expectations are sky high. The YRF film is slated to hit the big screen this Diwali.
Considering factors like the scale, genre, star-cast as well as release date, the film is expected to open to humongous numbers at the box office. The opening of Salman Khan’s Diwali 2015 release, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was around the 40 crore range and considering the inflation as well as year to year growth, the opening of Thugs of Hindostan is expected to go past the 45 crore mark with ease if it releases on the Post-Diwali day.
In fact, it would be interesting to see if Aamir Khan and team manage to do the unthinkable i.e. breach past 50 crores mark the box office in India. There are talks within the industry that just like Dhoom 3, even Thugs of Hindostan will release in IMAX, which would be an additional source of income for the makers as compared to conventional Hindi films.

Another film, which is expected to take an earth-shattering opening at the Box-Office in Race 3. The film, which stars Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead is slated to release on the Eid Day this year, and it is expected to open around the 40 crore mark.
A possibility of the higher opening cannot be ruled out; however, an exact biz can be predicted only once the theatrical trailer and songs of the film are unveiled by the makers. Race 3 can spring in a surprise in terms of opening day collections if the theatrical trailer and songs are at par with the previous installment of the franchise.
While Race 3 and Thugs Of Hindostan are front-loaded action films, hence bound to open well at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, on the other hand, is more towards the content zone, wherein biz would escalate based on the audience word of mouth. The theatrical trailer of Zero would give us an idea as to in what zone is the film heading in terms of the opening day collections.
