Saif Ali Khan On Bollywood’s Hypocrisy Over Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death: “That’s An Insult To The Dead”

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death grabbed the maximum eyeballs, and Bollywood was seen reacting to it tremendously. Now, actor Saif Ali Khan has spoken about the events that followed Sushant’s tragic demise. The actor called this ultimate hypocrisy, insult of the dead, and below is all that he has to say.
While Saif Ali Khan feels that Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise is ‘just awful’, he feels that people are trying to gain mileage on his tragedy. Saif opened up how people ran to make comments about the incident so quick. Be it due to show compassion or political stance, it is embarrassing to see people talking rubbish.
In an interview with TOI, Saif Ali Khan said, “Out of respect for him, for Sushant’s tragedy, maybe a day of silence or introspection would be a little more becoming than this outpouring of love – an outpouring of love from people who obviously didn’t care about him and people who famously don’t care about anybody else.”
The actor further opened up pretending to care for the dead is actually an insult. “I mean, we don’t care about anybody. You know, it’s a very cutthroat line of work. But to pretend that you do care is like the ultimate hypocrisy and I think that’s an insult to the dead, you know, it’s an insult to the soul that’s gone,” said Saif Ali Khan.
Further in the chat, the actor said how the sudden outflow of love for Sushant Singh Rajput is difficult to digest for the star. He also said that ‘nobody here really cares’ they just want to come across empathetic to their fans and followers.
In other news, if reports are to go by, Saif Ali Khan will be seen alongside Sushant in his last film Dil Bechara. Saif will be making a special appearance in the film.
However, Sushant Singh Rajput breathed his last on Sunday. The actor died by suicide and was found hanging in his Mumbai apartment.
