The Sushant Singh Rajput case is taking a new turn with startling revelations every single day. From the hospital’s negligence in writing the post mortem report to Rhea Chakraborty and her family being accused of abetting to his suicide a lot has been making headlines.
Now three friends of the couple have opened up about Sushant and Rhea’s relationship, claiming that the actress gave up two films last year to be with the late actor. Read on to know it.
HuffPost India recently spoke to three of Rhea Chakraborty’s friends, all of whom requested anonymity as they feared being targeted for speaking up for her. One friend was known to both Sushant and Chakraborty, before eventually became a close friend of the couple. The other two said they have known Rhea since her early days in the industry.
These friends claim Rhea Chakraborty as a sensitive, caring young woman who found herself as ‘one half of a young couple struggling to meet the demands of the Mumbai film industry. The friends said that once Rajput was diagnosed as being bipolar, he was convinced that if it were made public it could end his career.
A mutual friend of the couple said that they moved out of Sushant’s old house and into a new one in 2019 because he felt that the old apartment was ‘bad for his mental health’.
The three friends added that Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty were clearly in love and were intensely private. One friend said, “When we first met them as a couple at a common friend’s house, everybody was taken by how quickly they had fallen for each other. We were all happy.” The friend continued that they were in the honeymoon period of their relationship and hence no one among them wanted to guilt-trip them for not hanging out with the group.
They further added that as the couple continued dating, they sensed a change in the Jalebi actress. The friends said that Rhea began spending more time with Rajput and less with them. A friend revealed Rhea would often cancel salon visits or dinner dates at the last minute. “I’d just get a message that she needs to be with Sushant, that he’s unwell,” said the friend.
The friend further revealed that Rhea opted out of two films in 2019 to spend time with Sushant. The friend added that she would advise Rhea to keep working and finish her projects.
Talking about Rhea Chakraborty facing accusation in the case, one the friends said, “They haven’t had a moment to grieve. Has anyone paused to think that here’s a young woman who lost the love of her life? It’s bonkers for us to even process the hysteria that’s unfolding right now. It’s so far from the truth, it shocks the mind.”
Rhea Chakraborty has been accused of abetting SSR’s suicide and siphoning off his funds. An FIR was filed because of the same by Sushant’s father in Patna. The Sushant Singh Rajput case is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
