Deepika Padukone fans have been elated over her rumoured reunion with Shah Rukh Khan. The duo may have been roped in for Siddharth Anand’s next, Pathan. But as far as social media goes, things haven’t been very positive. Ever since the Sushant Singh Rajput case, a lot of Bollywood actors are at the receiving end of backlash.
If one remembers, soon after Sushant’s demise, Deepika began spreading awareness on mental health. The actress shared several posts trying to normalize the illness because of depression. Most of her posts began with “Repeat After Me.”
Deepika Padukone had herself dealt with depression in 2015. She even began The Live Love Laugh foundation as an effort to spread awareness around depression. But Kangana Ranaut in her recent tweets via her team ended up calling it a ‘dhandha’ (business).
Team Kangana Ranaut mocked Deepika Padukone tweeting, “Repeat after me, depression ka dhandha chalane walon ko public ne unki aukat dikhadi #CBIforShushant #SushantSingRajput #1stStepToSSRJustice.”
Owing to the same, Twitterati has now begun mocking Deepika’s ‘Repeat After Me’ strategy. Some of the tweets have even ended up attacking her husband Ranveer Singh. They mentioned how she termed Sushant Singh Rajput ‘depressed’ but fails to look around her surrounding. DP’s controversial visit at JNU in January has been dragged too.
“Repeat after me: Attention Seeking is an Art And Deepika Padukone is an Artist. #RepeatAfterMe,” a user wrote.
“All Of A sudden #Deepika got Mental illness And Start giving gyans About it After SSR Death. . Public: Repeat After Me: 5 crore per appearance,” commented another.
