Remember when R Madhavan’s Maddy saw Dia Mirza’s Reena for the first time in Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein? That scene! What if we tell you we might get to witness the spark yet again and a sequel is speculated to be on its way? Yes, you read it right, read on.
It has been almost 19 years, and Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein till date remains one of the most sought after romantic films. Everything from R Madhavan to Dia Mirza, to the songs, have a special place in our hearts. While, it wasn’t an instant success at Box Office then, the film has managed to build a fan base over the years.
What we hear now is that The R Madhavan and Dia Mirza starrer may get a sequel after almost 2 decades. Reports claim that the film will delve in Maddy and Reena’s life post marriage and what followed. Isn’t that exciting?
A source close to the development in a Mid-Day report said, “The makers toyed with some concepts, on and off, over the years. Only now have they found a script that has appealed to everyone and seems a natural progression to the lives of Maddy and Reena (the characters essayed by Madhavan and Mirza respectively). The script is in the final stage of development.”
Meanwhile, Dia Mirza and R Madhavan went live on Instagram a few weeks ago. It was then the two had spoken about the much-anticipated sequel. While talking about Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein sequel, Dia said, “We are doing our best to make it happen, but we will only work together when we can give our best. There is something so special about Reena and Maddy and I think there was an innocence and honesty we shared in RHTDM that resonates so deeply with everyone even today. We wouldn’t want to dilute that in any way.”
