Padmavati begins with Ranveer Singh, who plays Allauddin Khilji in the film. On November 1, the actor will begin shooting for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.
It was earlier reported that Deepika Padukone would get the project rolling. However, RS has now taken the baton from his ladylove and is set to take Padmavati off the start line.

Says a source, “Sanjay is fond of both Deepika and Ranveer. He has worked with both of them in two films. It doesn’t matter which actor starts the film. These things don’t come into play when he begins shooting. He is very sure of what he wants his characters to be, and how he will shoot them.”
