We were the first to report of the high profile four-way clash in the making. However at least one of them has finally decided to make a wise move. Rani Mukerjee, whose ‘Aiyya’ was planning to add on to the women dominated September, has made things a little lighter. The film has been postponed to October, hence leaving the arena open for Kareena Kapoor, Sridevi and Preity Zinta to fight it out.
“‘Aiyaa’ was earlier planned for 28th September release. That was just a week after a three way battle between Kareena (Heroine), Sridevi (English Vinglish) and Preity (Ishkq In Paris) would have ensued. Though for media it would have been good fodder to chew, courtesy four women centric films coming together, business wise it would have been a very poor decision for the producers. Hence Rani has now quietly decided to move on and ‘Aiyya’ would release exactly a month later on 24th October”, confirms our source.

What also helps the film is the fact that so far ‘Aiyya’ has managed to stay away from limelight. While Kareena is in news for ‘Halkat Jawaani’, Sridevi has already unveiled English Vinglish teaser and Preity has taken to Twitter for her film’s promotion, there is not a word being written about ‘Aiyya’.

“It has been planned this way”, the source continues, “Why to make noise so early in the day? This film is like a ‘band mutthi’ for Rani. She will start talking about it when the time is right. There is no rush.”
We are waiting for that as well Rani. Till then, we would contend ourselves with the other three heroines and their fireworks.
