It must be a record! Ram Gopal Varma has shot not just Rakht Charitra but its sequel too, even before releasing the first part. He plans to release Rakht Charitra on 22nd October, and the sequel, a few weeks later, around the end of December this year. While the film has been shot in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, the sequel is only for the Hindi and Telugu versions. In other words, the entire story for the Tamil version has been condensed and made into just one film without a sequel. While Vivek Oberoi is the lead man of Rakht Charitra (Hindi and Telugu), Tamil actor Surya is the hero of the sequel in both the languages. Radhika Apte plays Vivek’s leading lady while Priyamani is Surya’s heroine in the sequel.

Surya plays the lead man in the Tamil version. It is for Rakht Charitra that Shatrughan Sinha got his moustache shaved off. He will be seen in the first as well as the second parts of the film which is about Andhra politics and the rise of Paritala Ravi and Suri, two people with shady pasts, therein. Inside reports suggest that Rakht Charitra is one of the most violent films made in India!
