A daily dose of all the crazy Bollywood gossip!

Priyanka Goes The Katy Perry Way

Priyanka Chopra and Katy Perry

When I read  this morning that Priyanka Chopra might be meeting international pop star Katy Perry on the sidelines of the IPL 5 opening ceremony in Chennai, I felt that life had come a full circle. Don’t understand how? Read on…

Priyanka, who is probably too bored of Bollywood films, decided in August last year to go international, by releasing an English album of songs recorded by her!

Katy Perry, on the other hand, is taking baby steps into the movie world, with the latest announcement of her concert movie, a la Justin Bieber, who had released his very own concert film, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, last year. Bieber has also been quoted talking about plans of a mainstream Hollywood film with Mark Wahlberg.

Well, we get it: bored movie stars want to turn singers and bored music stars want to graduate to films. One question remains. How successful will Priyanka Chopra’s singing outing be?

Sonakshi Sinha Loves Akshay Kumar

Or that is what it seems from her choice of films. After having a blockbuster movie debut opposite Salman Khan in the 2010 hit Dabangg, Sonakshi seems to be doing all the films that star Akshay Kumar. Take Shirish Kunder’s Joker or Prabhu Devaa’s Rowdy Rathore, for example.

So when she finally okayed  her casting for Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai sequel, in which Akshay Kumar is playing the lead role, I got thinking if Sonakshi’s selection of films had anything to with the fact that Akki was in all of them.

Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar

To be sure, she’s also doing Ajay Devgan’s Son Of Sardar and Lootera with Ranveer Singh, but with the latter out of circulation due to an injury, it seems that Sonakshi can get back to her favourite Bollywood star for now. I have of course, conveniently forgotten the fact that Ms. Sinha is also rejoining Salman Khan for the Dabangg sequel, but we all have selective memories, don’t we?
