Filmmaker and actress Pooja Bhatt yesterday took to her Twitter handle to express her anger following the news of a pregnant elephant’s death at Silent Valley Forest in Kerala. The hungry and innocent animal was fed with a pineapple filled with explosive crackers by locals there. As the elephant chewed the fruit the crackers in it burst in her mouth which broke her jaw and left her with serious injuries in its mouth.
Netizens and several Bollywood celebrities expressed their anger over the killing of the poor animal. Pooja Bhatt was left shocked after learning the news and was left fuming with anger, as her tweet read, ” We worship Lord Ganesha and kill and abuse elephants. We worship Lord Hanuman & get pleasure out of watching monkeys being chained & performing degrading tricks. We worship and revere female goddesses and resent strength in women, abuse, maim them & practise female infanticide.”
