New York Supreme Court Doesn't Rule In Favor Of IIFA Organizers

Akarsh Kolaprath, a travel agent from Florida who sued IIFA organizers Wizcraft in a $7 million dollar suit is now relieved as New York Supreme Court backed him. Judge Melvin L. Schweitzer of New York State Supreme Court last week ordered the organizers of IIFA, held recently in Tampa, not to transfer or cause to be transferred any monies in their possession from the sale of IIFA tickets out of the US.

Akarsh’s company 7M Tours spent $2,65,000 on the arrangements for the organization after Wizcraft promised him 3% share of the entire profits.

After pulling out of his arrangements, in a mail included as an exhibit, Timmins and other Wizcraft representatives wrote “No deal materialized between Wizcraft and Chetan Shah or Go Bollywood Tampa Bay. Subsequently, this leaves no understanding between Wizcraft and 7M Tours on any kind of fees or payment due towards you.“

Thus, due to the inclusion of all written evidence by 7M tours, the court ruled in favour of Akarsh and now the makers of IIFA are caught in a huge legal mess.
