The Mumbai police recently issued a circular to all the city police stations highlighting the lapses that happened on their part. It was a move by Mumbai police to avoid any further such lapses in investigation, which led to huge embarrassment for them. According to the circular, there were 16 major procedural lapses in the case as mentioned by the High court.
The Maharashtra government has decided to appeal against the High court judgement in Supreme court.
