Legendary actress Suchitra Sen breathed her last after succumbing to a heart-attack in Kolkata earlier today. Known as the Greta Garbo of Indian cinema, most of her promising work is in Bengali. But the actress managed to leave a mark in Bollywood with Gulzar’s classic film Aandhi with Sanjeev Kumar.
The actress who was 82 year old was admitted in Kolkata’s Belle Vue Clinic since December 23rd. Known for her films like Devdas and Aandhi, she is quite an unforgettable fixture in the history of Indian cinema. The actress’s daughter Moon Moon Sen and grand daughter Riya Sen and Raima Sen are all popular film actors in Bengali as well as in Hindi. The last rites of the diva will be performed today as per reports. Koimoi extends our condolences to her family and friends.
