The nepotism debate has found new vigour in the industry ever since the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. Now the latest to give his views on the debate is one of the Indian Televisions most loved comedian, Krushna Abhishek. It is no secret that the comedian is the nephew of veteran actor Govinda. But he says that the relationship has never helped him in professional gains.
Calling the whole nepotism debate rather baseless, Krushna Abhishek says that while he may be Govinda’s nephew, he has to get work on his own merit. The actor-comedian feels that each individual has a journey of their own. Speaking about the much-hyped nepotism debate, Krushna was quoted by Hindustan Times saying, “Everyone has to struggle on their own. Yes, I am Govinda’s nephew but Govinda doesn’t work in place of me. Woh nahi aate mere liye kaam karne, mujhe khud kaam karna padta hai. Maybe Govinda will get me work but after that it’s all about talent. Nepotism has no role in it.”

Further opening up about the same, Krushna Abhishek says that just being from a film family cannot change an individual’s fate. “It doesn’t matter at all which film family you belong to. I’m from a film family; I should have been in (actor) Varun Dhawan’s position. But I’m struggling on my own. Varun Dhawan’s father is (filmmaker) David Dhawan, but he also probably thinks he should be in some other position. Everyone has their own journey and struggle.”
