The ultimate Khiladi Kumar of our tinsel, who is a firm believer in not using stuntmen for his stunts and does all of them by himself, Akshay Kumar becomes reminiscent about his best bike stunt of the lot he has performed throughout his career, spanning over 22 years.
Spotted at the launch of CB Trigger, Honda’s new 150cc bike, according to Akki, his till best bike stunt was in 1998 cine Keemat.
He said, “I have performed too many action roles with motorcycles but a stunt scene in Keemat will always be memorable. It was a dangerous scene, in which I had to jump the bike from a height, which was almost as high as a three storey building. There was a door near my landing point and I was not even aware of exactly where to land. I practiced almost a day and finally the scene was done”.
Our ultimate Khiladi is very fond of bikes, and personally owns five of them which he puts to use while combating Mumbai traffic, to reach his shooting locales. “Traffic congestion and jams are big problems and matter of concern in Mumbai, to counter that I often use my bikes while going for film shootings. The distance covered by car in one-and-a-half hour can be done in 15-20 minutes on a bike,” he chirped.
Akshay who has done innumerous and humungous dangerous stunt sequences, has always kept safety as his priority and advises all to do the same. Akki uses quality helmet, knee and elbow pads for safety, while riding his beloved zooming machine, while travel.
Our 45 year old Rowdy Rathore, who just turned Khiladi 786 after a period of quite a few years and also did Special 26, is on a hectic spree shooting simultaneously for Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2, Boss and also Thuppakki remake, tentatively titled Pistol.
