Tamil Super hit Thuppakki is doing wonders at the box office. It is one of the most lucrative Tamil films, even surpassing the revenues collected by a few of Rajinikanth films, which in fact spoke volume about its success. The Hindi Version which is still in its conception stages will star Akshay Kumar. There is a dispute about the choice of the lead lady. The actress lead will be given an action oriented role and will be seen playing a boxer. The top contenders for the main role are Sonakshi Sinha, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif.

Sources suggest that Deepika Padukone is leading this race because she was approached for the original film which she could not do due to her packed schedule and date problems. Being the daughter of Prakash Padukone and coming from an athletic background gives her a certain edge over others.
Katrina however is putting up a brave fight. After appearing in the dramatic role in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, she is looking to explore a new experience in her next project. If she is looped in, this will be her dream project to work with Vipul Shah and Akshay Kumar, after the brilliant time she had working for Namaste London. Actress Sonakshi Sinha has also expressed her interest in working with Akshay Kumar again since he is a wonderful co-star!

Akshay’s presence will have a magnanimous impact on the audiences, and given the strong script this film is already making the audiences feel excited.
