When the news of Katrina Kaif collaborating with Ali Abbas Zafar for a superhero flick came out, fans were left excited. Later we came to know that the film was not going to the big screens, but will release as a Netflix original. Now, as per the buzz, it is being said that the reason behind opting for a digital format is that no producers or studios found the film financially viable. Yes, you read that right, read on for this latest news about Katrina Kaif.

Said to be a two-part franchise, the film is mounted on a budget of Rs. 200 crores. But as per reports, the producers of the big screen thought that the film won’t have takers and won’t turn out to be a profitable affair.

Talking about the same, a source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama, “Katrina Kaif’s film will be mounted on a huge scale and is fit for big-screen viewing. The budget is Rs. 200 crore for both the films combined. Ali Abbas Zafar approached several producers and studios to bankroll the project. But all of them found the venture to be financially unviable. They feared that it wouldn’t find as many takers as they’d require for the project to become profitable.”
