Shree Rajput Karni Sena, the group who have been opposing the film Padmaavat, since its production days have now agreed to watch it. They have planned to end the deadlock on the issue and accepted Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s invitation. The film, which is slated to release on January 25, has been facing protests by Karni Sena and other fringe groups which also led to the delay in the release of the film. The political group alleged that the historical facts have been distorted in the flick.
“We are ready to watch the film. We never said that we will not watch the film. The filmmaker had assured us one year ago that he will go for a special screening and now he has written for the screening and we are ready for that,” Karni Sena leader, Lokendra Singh Kalvi, who was in Uttar Pradesh, while in conversation to PTI over the phone.
On January 20, Bhansali Productions had written a letter to Shree Rajput Karni Sena and Rajput Sabha, Jaipur, in which they invited them to watch the film and gave them the assurance that the film showcased the honour and valour of the Rajput community and they have also taken care that their emotions are not hurt while watching the film.
