For Kalki Koechlin, there was a promise of an altogether new world to be discovered the moment she decided to step into the candyfloss setting of Karan Johar. Little did she know that this would also meant putting on her dancing shoes and learning more than just a move or two for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. What makes her job all the difficult is the fact that she would now be compared to the likes of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukonewho are the lead couple in the film and also trained dancers.

“Both Karan Johar as well as director Ayan Mukherjee have told Kalki in no uncertain terms that she would have to dance in the film. Though she is said to be paired with Aditya Roy Kapur in the film, there may be a sequence where all four actors would be sharing a frame. In order to be as agile and energetic as her more experienced co-stars, Kalki has already started practising as she understands that she has a task in hand”, informs a source attached to the film.
Naturally, Kalki is quite anxious, more so since she is simultaneously shooting for Ek Thi Daayan and hence is required to juggle between two altogether different genres of cinema.
“Yes, Ayan is threatening to make me dance in the film. I have told him that I am really a very bad dancer and may end up screwing their scene and setting. However he is insistent that I do it. Guess I would have to after all”, sighs Kalki.
Last one heard, elaborate rehearsals have already been planned for her as well as Aditya Roy Kapoor.
