Bank Chor became popular as Kapil Sharma’s debut vehicle and in no time the actor was out of the film despite YRF’s pompous announcement. The shoot of Bank Chor kickstarted and yesterday Koimoi caught up with Riteish Deshmukh on the sets of Bank Chor in Mumbai’s iconic Mehboob Studios. Riteish, who is still coming out of his success of Lai Bhaari and Ek Villain seemed very upbeat and thrilled about his first film with YRF. Speaking of how the role came to him he said, “I got a SMS from Adi to come down and read the script. I read the script twice. And I was on. I loved the plot and story.”
But often scripts that were put down by others are hard to be given out to others. Riteish doesn’t seem to have too many qualms about replacing Kapil Sharma. He added, “As far as replacing Kapil comes, I did not have any glitch in my mind. Kapil is great at what he does. He has a wicked comic timing. I am sure he will be a great actor too. Because a guy who has such understanding on scripts on stage, films will come easier to him. I wish him all the best.”

Continuing on the same, Riteish elaborated, “I don’t judge a film by whom it was offered to. Because every film has its own destiny. I don’t take it to heart at all. It could have been offered to anyone. And I am not like, ‘Arey isko offer kiya toh mujhe kyun de rahe ho’. Every call on a script should be taken based on the scripts merits. It is the most important thing to take that into consideration. Each and every film I get associated with, I believe I am the only actor who has been offered that script. There have been scripts I have said no to and might have gone to someone else and he could have done it. We shouldn’t take it too seriously. As long as you get to do the film and it works, other things shouldn’t matter. Someone refused the first film I ever did and I got a chance. So I definitely shouldn’t complain about it.”
Bank Chor stars Riteish Deshmukh in the role of a guy who plots a bank robbery because he is unable to pay off his loans. Vivek Oberoi is playing the role of a CBI cop. This is the first time Vivek and Riteish are pitted against each other unlike Masti and Grand Masti where they played thick friends. Rhea Chakraborty plays the female lead in the film.
