Lady luck does not seem to be siding with illustrious filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali these days. The filmmaker’s Gangubai Kathiawadi featuring Alia Bhatt in the lead role has been the talk of the town ever since its inception. Now the movie is back to making headlines, but this time the news is rather sad.

The world’s largest entertainment industry, Bollywood too has come to a standstill owing to the pandemic Coronavirus. And this has not spared even the biggest names of the industry. Reports have been doing rounds that while it seems impossible for filmmakers to begin shooting for quite a few months now, SLB’s extravagant set of Gangubai Kathiawadi may soon be demolished.

OMG! Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Extravagant Set Of Gangubai Kathiawadi To Be Demolished?
Gangubai Kathiawadi: Lavish Set Of Alia Bhatt & Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Film To Be Demolished?

A certain source has revealed to Bollywood Hungama, that the set of Gangubai had cost Bhansali a whopping sum and is one of his most detailed and lavish sets. The source has been quoted by the portal saying, “Bhansali and his leading lady Alia Bhatt were hoping (against hope) that the current coronavirus crisis would blow over after some time. But as weeks of a lockdown seem to be turning into months, the fear that Bollywood filmmakers won’t be able to shoot until 2021 is driving one of the world’s most active entertainment industries into a bundle of nerves. Bhansali’s set is one of the biggest most detailed and expensive set ever created for a film.”

The source further says that while Bhansali was hoping to return to the set soon, it looks highly unlikely and with monsoon’s soon setting in the set will sadly have to be taken down.
