Gangubai Kathiawadi: Alia Bhatt To Start Shooting For Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Film Sooner Than You Think!

Alia Bhatt’s portrayal in celebrated filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi has been much spoken about. Revolving around the life of Gangubai, remembered as The Madam Of Kamathipura in the pages of history, was pushed into prostitution at an early age, and later became an extremely influential pimp with numerous ferocious gangsters as her client, the film looks like one of the most challenging films Alia is yet to get into.

Alia Bhatt, who needs no introduction today after she has carved a niche for herself in an exceptionally short span of time and at a rather young age, is certainly an intriguing choice made by a filmmaker as prolific as Sanjay Leela Bhansali to play a feisty and dreaded kothewali!

However, speaking about Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia has been quoted by Etimes saying, “Well, right now am in a prep mode, will begin shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film in a couple of days. And then I have my magnum opus film ‘Brahmastra’ which is also almost close to completion. There’s also ‘Sadak‘ which is my dad’s film which is like 95 per cent done so next year is going to be quite exciting,”

Well, the Highway actresses list of films does not end here. Alia goes on to reveal, “I will also be starting my work with Rajamouli Sir where I’ll work on ‘RRR‘ so yeah next year is going to be a tight year.”

Meanwhile, Gangubai Kathiawad is also being touted as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dream project and has been slated for a release on the 11th September 2020.
