The year 2020 has turned out to be a nightmare, as several respected and much-loved figures have left us. Now, another sad piece of news is coming in regarding former Indian president and Bharat Ratna, Pranab Mukherjee.
After being under the critical condition for the last few days, Pranab da has passed away. He was 84 years old. The news has been shared by former Indian president’s son, Abhijit Mukherjee. He took to social media and quoted, “With a Heavy Heart , this is to inform you that my father Shri #PranabMukherjee has just passed away inspite of the best efforts of Doctors of RR Hospital & prayers ,duas & prarthanas from people throughout India ! I thank all of You.”

Even though Pranab Mukherjee had a background of Indian National Congress, he was respected and popular beyond the party line. For an immense contribution to the political field, he was even honoured with Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of India, in 2019.
