Dear Comrade: When Vijay Deverakonda Slept On Karan Johar’s Couch In His Office

Sharing some interesting deets about his meeting with Karan. Vijay said, “So, I stepped in. I went to his office.. I was so under-slept since the last 1 week so I started the film and said, “Are you guys okay?” and they were okay and I went in his room and slept on the couch.. and then 1-hour nap later I suddenly woke up thinking where am I? Don’t I have a release in a few days? First of all, I was like, “where am I?”, sleeping on the couch, I didn’t realise the geography of the room and then I realised, Oh Fu*k, this is Karan Johar’s office”.

He further added, “And then I got up and saw my phone, people from across Bombay saying, “can we talk? And I was like, “How everyone knows about it? It’s supposed to be a secret.”

When asked about if he plans to do Hindi films, Vijay said that doing that is interesting but he wants to do something both Telugu and Hindi which works back home and here too. He also said that he feels Mumbai is too fast for him and he likes to do things on his own terms.

Talking about why he said No to Kabir Singh and now is not doing Dear Comrade in Hindi, Vijay said that he didn’t want to become a Hindi film hero, he wanted to become an actor and tell stories. He added that there’s no point in wasting 6 more months of his time doing the same thing because it’s not exciting and also because there are many fresh stories which can be told. Vijay also added that if there are other actors who are excited to do the remake and it’s fresh for them then it’s better only for them to do it.
