When Bollywood sensation and eternal diva Sridevi passed away, she left the nation shell shocked. The actress had gone to attend a wedding in Dubai and that is where the unfortunate incident took place, causing the death of one of Indian cinema’s most versatile actresses.
But now, almost 2 years after her death, social media today is trending with a hashtag, #CBIEnquiryForSridevi. Yes, you read that right! On February 25, 2018 ripples of shock were felt across the nation when it was reported that Sridevi had breathed her last due to accidental drowning in her hotel room bathtub. The ‘Chaalbaaz’ actress along with her entire family were in Dubai to attend her nephew, Mohit Marwah’s wedding with Antara Motiwala.
While back then, there was no foul play reported in the death of the actress but several people alleged it to be murder. One of the names back then was BJP MP Subramanian Swamy. The politician who today says that Sushant Singh Rajput’s death too was murder, was of the same opinion for Sridevi’s death as well.

Now with various speculations arising in the case of Kai Po Che actor Sushant Singh Rajput, fans have begun trending #CBIEnquiryForSridevi on Twitter. Fans of the actress took to the microblogging site and are demanding that the case should be reopened and investigated by the CBI.
However, there was one particular tweet that has gotten our attention. A certain user by the name of ProNaMo tweeted, “According to a news agency, Singh’s lawyer senior advocate Vikas Singh argued before the court that an insurance policy worth Rs 240 crore in was brought in Sridevi’s name in Oman and could be encashed only if the actor died in Dubai.”
Another tweet read, “Those closest to the actress swore that Sridevi never touched hard liquor and only drank one glass of wine during an entire evening. How did hard liquor show up in blood? Bruises around neck hinted she was forced to drink.”
According to a news agency, Singh’s lawyer senior advocate Vikas Singh argued before the court that an insurance policy worth Rs 240 crore in was brought in Sridevi’s name in Oman and could be encashed only if the actor died in Dubai.
