When actors turned to crime off-screen, they were not spared. These Bollywood Celebs have often gone wrong with their public conduct. Right from scuffles with the media to possession of illegal substances, these actors mixed their reel life crime scenes with real life.
Here is a list of Bollywood celebs who have been jailed for their Criminal Acts:
Salman Khan surely comes to mind when it comes to legal misconduct. The actor known for his irritable nature has been involved in two major cases. A hit-run case of 2002 and the Black Buck hunting case for which Salman was sentenced a 5 year jail sentence although the actor is currently out on bail. We wish, this ‘Being Human’ guy had followed his own NGO’s label.
Inder Kumar who was last seen in Salman Khan’s Wanted has been recenlty caught in a legal mess. The actor has been accused of Rape by a 23-year old struggling actress. Inder has been booked under the charges of section 376 (Rape), 324 (Causing grievous hurt) and 506 (Criminal Intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.Denying any such involvement, Inder is currently in custody till 30th April 2014.
Already involved in the Black Buck poaching case with Salman Khan, the Nawab, Saif Ali Khan added a assault case to his name. The actor was charged with assault when a South-African entrepreneur lodged a complaint against Saif Ali Khan and his friends involved in a brawl at a suburban hotel. With Saif Ali Khan not pleading guilty, the case is up for hearing this month.
He is definitely known for his criminal record as well. He has been convicted for some serious crimes at that. A young Sanjay Dutt was caught in 1982 for illegal drug possession and served a 5 month jail term for the same. If this was any less, Sanju Baba was also charged in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case for possession of illegal arms. The actor is currently serving a six year jail term but is out on parole at the moment.
This literally shocked Bollywood. Actor Shiney Ahuja was arrested on 14th June 2009 after his domestic help accused him of rape. Ahuja was convicted for a 7 year rigorous imprisonment. Although Shiney was granted bail a month after his conviction, the actor received quite a bit of mockery from the film fraternity.
The actress who is now seen on Television had started off with Bollywood. Monica was arrested by Lisbon police along with her alleged boyfriend and an underworld don Abu Salem for entering Portugal with forged documents. After being deported to India, Monica was convicted for forgery and served her jail term.
Rajpal Yadav was convicted for concealing facts about a 5 crore in a recovery suit against him and his wife by a businessman. The actor was in custody for 10 days. We never expected this comic legend to indulge in criminal act.
In a rather scandalous case, National award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar was arrested after a struggling actress Preeti Jain accused the director of rape in 2006. Madhur was later granted bail and was relieved by the court on the grounds of unavailable evidence.
The actor was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Juhu (Mumbai) in 2001, on the charges of attempting to buy cocaine. Nasir Shaikh, who allegedly sold him the drug, and Tony Gomes, who allegedly supplied it to Shaikh, were also arrested. Charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, the actor claimed that he had tried to buy only one gram of cocaine as against the NCB claim that nine grams of the drug were found on him and Shaikh.
In the recent love saga that went bitter, Sooraj Pancholi, son of actor Aditya Pancholi was arrested in the Jiah Khan suicide case. Yet to debut in Bollywood, this actor was dating model-turned-actress Jiah Khan and was charged with abettment to suicide in her suicide case. Later granted bail, the actor is now busy shooting for his Bollywood debut.
Vindhu Dara Singh, son of the famous Bollywood actor Dara Singh was caught in a IPL-spot fixing scandal. Vindhu was booked for cheating and forgery. The actor had shot to fame after his stint in Bigg Boss 3. The actor was found to have been betting himself and also aiding the bookies.
Another Bigg Boss celebrity Armaan Kohli who is currently in the news for his love affair with co-contestant Tanisha Mukherjee was also arrested under physical abuse. Co-contestant Sofia Hayat filed a complaint of manhandling and physical abuse against Kohli.

The actor had involvement in the famed ‘Bofors’ scandal but the actor was later vindicated of these charges. Also Big B was caught in a chaos at Mumbai airport after the actor was found to be carrying a gun without the required license documents.
This newbie actor who is all set to debut in ‘O Teri’ was a part of the same brawl that Saif Ali Khan is being charged for. Bilal who was also accompanying Saif at the hotel during the incident has been charged on the same grounds as Saif.
