Bollywood is increasingly fashioning itself into an era of bygone yesteryear period, recreating older films and older periods like the glorious 60s and 70s. Not just Special Chabbis and Sajid Khan’s lately release Himmatwala, but 2013 has a host of films lined up which is not set in the contemporary period. This is perhaps a deliberate attempt on the part of film makers to recreate on screen nostalgic elements they hold endearingly, or simply a way to deviate from other mainstream films trying their hand at something new and mysterious.
