Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan’s directorial venture AndhaDhun has been in news from the past number of days following its big win in the form of the prestigious National Award.

The filmmaker who recently bagged the best director award at Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne at press meet there stated that Ayushmann wasn’t the first choice for the film, as he (Sriram) had approached many biggies for the lead character, but things didn’t work out at that time.

“A lot of big actors said no to the film. They couldn’t understand how the movie would pan out. At the time, we didn’t have the complete script. And I was like, if they can’t understand it now, then it’s fine because they won’t suit the role.” the director has quoted as per reports by DNA.

Andhadhun‘, went on to win three National Awards at 66th National Film Awards, under categories of Best Hindi Film, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.
