Anubhav Sinha’s Article 15 starring Ayushmann Khurrana is doing well at the Box Office. The film opened on a decent note on Friday and further improved in the weekend. Even on Monday, the collections remained rock steady leading the film towards a better 4 day total of 24.01 crores.

But despite all the appreciation, Article 15 is facing strong opposition in some parts of the country. Earlier it was Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), where the film screening was cancelled and now the same has been done in Roorkee, Uttarakhand following the fear of violence.

According to Times Now reports, the civic administration of Roorkee has banned the film’s screening in the town due to the law and order concerns. As per Bombay Times, it happened after the office of Roorkee’s Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ravindra Singh Negi gave orders. He has been quoted as saying, “Representatives of Hindu Sena met me on Friday and expressed their concerns that the film, Article 15, portrays a particular community in a poor light. They demanded a ban on the screening. My view was that if the film is screened in the city, it could lead to law and order issues.”

Further, Roorkee Station House Officer (SHO) Amarjeet Singh told BT, “We received the orders and ensured that they were enforced. As of now, the film isn’t being screened in the city.”
