A lot of actors have come out in the open to admit that Nepotism does exist in the industry. Well, Koimoi got a chance to talk to Amaal Mallik who too has been vocal about his opinion in this debate.

Amaal Mallik is someone who has always said that it is equally difficult for the people who have a connection in the industry to establish themselves as it is for the outsiders. When we asked him about his opinion, he said, “Because I have had a surname people think ki bahut aasaani se mil gaya hoga, par aisa nahi hai. Wahi struggle hai, wahi director ya label ke paas jaakar 7-7 ghante Armaan aur maine bhi ruk ke wo struggle kiya hai.”
“Aapko lagta hai ki mere paas backing thi kyuki mera surname hai, but I am not a very successful music director. My dad saw a very fair share of decent success. He has not seen the glitz glamour, the invitation to big awards, nothing,” continued Amaal Mallik. “Both the boys ke liye kabhi humare papa ne phone utha ke bola nahi ki inhe kaam do. We stepped in, worked hard and got our due and it’s all for our parents.”
The talented music composer further said, “Hum log bahut dil se clean bachche hai, we try to make our music and make our parents proud. So bolne wale to bahut bolenge, that is their perception but ek clarity ye hai ki har jagah ye hota hai. Taakat aur neeyat me neeyat jeetega eventually. So don’t give up on yourselves, it’s fine! There are power games everywhere, just keep making your music and keep believing ki I am going to do a great job which will reach out to humans in some way or the other. Mujeh bhi bahut filmo se nikala gaya hai. Its not that mere surname ke wajah se noone messes with mee, sabka equal hai.”
