Akshay Kumar is currently busy shooting for Karan Johar’s magnum opus, Kesari, which is based on the infamous Battle of Saragarhi. The shooting of the film, directed by Anurag Singh is expected to be wrapped up by Mid-May, following which Akshay Kumar will go on a short vacation. After returning from the vacation, the actor will start shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala’s ambitious film, Housefull 4 directed by Sajid Khan.
The comedy, which is set against the backdrop of reincarnation is said to be the costliest film of the franchise and is gearing up for a Diwali 2019 release. Akshay has allotted bulk dates for the film and according to sources this would be the longest time that he would allot for a film. The movie will be shot at several places in India and outside India and the shooting will be wrapped by October, following which the VFX team will work on the post-production for a year.
Akshay Kumar has not announced any film apart from Kesari and Housefull 4 for 2019 release, however the superstar is in talks with multiple directors for their upcoming films. Khiladi is in talks with KriArj for two films, one of which is a horror comedy and other one being an action entertainer. The horror comedy is said to be the official remake of Kanchana whereas the action entertainer is rumoured to be directed by AR Murugadoss.

Apart from the two films mentioned above, Akshay is also in talks with YRF for a two-hero film, but yet to sign the dotted lines. The film is question will be directed by Shimit Amin, who previous work includes Ab Tak Chappan, Chak De India and Rocket Singh. The production house is in talks with several actors to play the second lead in the film, one of which includes their inhouse talent. It would be interesting to see if this film materializes as it would be Akshay’s second collaboration with YRF after Tashan.
