Actor Ajay Devgn has received a notice from the Delhi government for appearing in a Pan masala ad. As per section 5 of Cigarette and Other Tobacco Product Act 2003, the direct and indirect advertisements of tobacco products have been banned.

The ad promotes a brand of gutka/tobacco products which misleads the consumer and is especially harmful to the kids as per COTPA 2003 which is a violation of public health practice.

The letter sent to the actor asks him not to appear in such ads. In a related matter, other celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda have also received notices.
