If grapevine is to believed, Netflix India has requested the makers of Ajay Devgn produced and Kajol starrer Tribhanga to release their film in the second half of 2020, and not in 2021. Below is what exactly is happening.
For the unversed, Tribhanga marks Kajol’s full fledged digital debut and also husband Ajay Devgn’s production house Ajay Devgn Films’ first OTT project. The film directed by Renuka Shahane also stars Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi in pivotal characters alongside Kajol.

Now, according to a report in Mid-day, Netflix has requested the makers to release Tribhanga in the second half of 2020 itself. While the release of the film was set in 2021. A trade source said, “While Netflix has several offerings lined up, Tribhanga is one of its few projects that is close to the finish line. The editing is complete; only the background music and VFX are pending. So, the OTT platform has requested the producer to expedite the delivery of the final product.”

Meanwhile, the same report quotes producer Siddharth Malhotra who hinted at the preponing of the film. He revealed that the release date will only be decided once the final cut is submitted to Netflix.
“We can’t resume work until the studios open their doors. Considering the work remaining on sound effects and VFX, we will need a month or two to deliver the final product. Even if the lockdown is lifted by mid-May, we should be able to deliver it latest by July,” said Siddharth.
Tribhanga revolves around the lives of three women from different generation.
