Her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan has been blogging away for long and hubby Abhishek Bachchan has his own set of friends and followers on the micro-blogging site Twitter.com. But now even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wants to get closer to her fans and plans to do so through her official website. While Ash did start her website, it remained more or less defunct over the last four years as she couldn’t find time to exploit the potential of the medium, especially after her marriage.
Most Bollywood stars have been taking efforts to reach out to their fan base via technology. While many like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan have taken to Twitter.com, some like Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan prefer to speak in more than 140 characters and opt for blogs instead. Yet, many like Aishwarya, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Imran Khan stay away from these online interactions. What’s common between many of these stars is that they are guilty of being more approachable only when their films near release.
We just hope we get to hear more of the real Aishwarya Rai than her usual bland, diplomatic answers.
