Not only does the doe-eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai celebrate her 38th birthday today, the glowing actress is also expecting her first child this month (November). Aishwarya, who is on a break from films for now, had her god bharai (baby shower) last month. Ash is one of the few actresses who proved that marriage and the 30-year-age-barrier need not slow her down.
After winning the Miss World pageant in 1994, the Manglore-born actress made her debut in Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film, Iruvar.
In 1999, she starred in the musical Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan and won several accolades for her acting and her dance. In the same year, Ash once again proved her mettle with another musical, Taal, opposite Anil Kapoor and Akshay Khanna.
As the playful and loving Paro in Devdas, Aishwarya managed to stand her own, even with heavyweight stars like Madhuri Dixit and Shah Rukh Khan.
In 2004, she made her Hollywood debut with Gurinder Chada’s Pride & Prejudice.
In Dhoom 2, Aishwarya and Hrithik Roshan’s set the screen on fire with their sizzling chemistry.
Aishwarya got her chance to star opposite south superstar Rajnikanth in the 2010 hit, Endhiran – Robot.
Aishwarya starred opposite Hrithik once again in Guzaarish last year. The actress has been on a break since.
